Sixth Annual CP Course: Rehabilitation Milestones Across the Lifespan

07/24/2025 – 07/25/2025
  • Early bird rate $400 through March 27, 2025. After, $450.

DESCRIPTION
Join us as we follow two patients diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (CP) through the course of their rehabilitation journey from birth through adulthood, offering an evidence-based approach to understanding and supporting individuals with CP at every stage of life. On day one, we will follow an individual with a spastic hemiplegic presentation, and on day two, we will follow an individual with a spastic quadriplegic presentation tracking both their journeys from initial diagnosis and early intervention, through school and into adulthood. Key moments in time will be discussed related to medical intervention as well as transitions exploring the physical, cognitive, emotional and social aspects of CP across the lifespan. Participants will gain a detailed understanding of the differences between the classifications of CP as well as the relevant evidence-based assessments and interventions that can be used to inform client-centered care. Emphasis will be placed on how the condition evolves as individuals age, with a focus on developmental milestones, motor skills, communication and adaptive functioning in children, adolescents and adults with CP. The course will also explore the importance of early diagnosis, multidisciplinary intervention and family-centered care, as well as address the unique needs of aging adults with CP who may face new health challenges over time.
