Intuitive Control of a Hybrid Prosthetic Leg During Ambulation

Objective

The objective of this research is to determine the clinical benefits of an innovative and lightweight powered leg controlled using our intent recognition framework in laboratory and community environments.


Participants in this study will visit the Shirley Ryan 香港六合彩即时开奖 1-2 times per month for socket fitting, evaluation and training with the powered lower limb prosthesis.


Participants will be fit with a robotic prosthesis, walk on various surfaces and wear sensors that monitor muscle activity.

Who Can Participate

Participants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age 18 years old or older
  • Individuals with a transfemoral (above-the-knee) amputation of one or both legs
  • Able to ambulate with a prosthesis
  • English Speaking

Compensation

Participants will receive compensation for each visit.

The purpose of this study is to test a set of surveys designed to determine if Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) are person-centered. Person-centered HCBS are based on what is important to the person receiving the services and are designed to help the recipient live the life they want to live. In order to determine if HCBS are person-centered, a set of surveys has been developed to measure the person-centeredness (or not) of HCBS.
