Researchers at the Regenstein Foundation Center for Bionic Medicine (CBM) recently published two conference papers presented at the International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC). Co-authors include Dr. Levi Hargrove, PhD, Scientific Chair of CBM, and Margaret (Maggie) Swerdloff, a doctoral candidate whose research focuses on improving outcome measures for prosthesis wearers.

  • Swerdloff, Margaret M., and Levi J. Hargrove. . In 2020 42nd Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC), pp. 2849-2852. IEEE, 2020. This paper provides a proof-of-concept protocol for measuring cognitive load using an auditory oddball cognitive task to elicit P3 event-related potentials (ERP) during three tasks: sitting, standing, and walking on a treadmill.

  • Wei, Yijie, Qiankai Cao, Levi Hargrove, and Jie Gu. . In 2020 42nd Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC), pp. 4002-4007. IEEE, 2020. In this paper, researchers present a real time physiological signal classification system with an integrated ultra-low power collaborative neural network classifier.
