Objective

Receive early intervention therapy to detect arm/hand lymphedema through the measurement of body water.

The Shirley Ryan 香港六合彩即时开奖 is comparing water body scales used in the clinic and at home to detect early onset breast cancer-related lymphedema. Lymphedema is a common side effect of breast cancer surgery and can be reversed when detected early. The goal of this research study is to detect changes in water that could indicate arm swelling, or lymphedema, as soon as possible after breast cancer surgery.

If you should qualify for this research study:

  • You will participate in a minimum of five (90-minute) therapy sessions over the course of one year, which will take place in person at 355 E Erie St, Chicago, IL 60611.
  • You will receive a home body water analyzer scale to use twice daily for one year.

Who Can Participate

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Unilateral Breast Cancer with completed surgery in last 6 months.
  • Sufficient standing ability to use a scale at home daily.
  • Availability to attend a minimum of 5 therapy sessions over the course of one year.

Research Survey: Answer questions about your experience receiving Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS)

The purpose of this study is to test a set of surveys designed to determine if Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) are person-centered. Person-centered HCBS are based on what is important to the person receiving the services and are designed to help the recipient live the life they want to live. In order to determine if HCBS are person-centered, a set of surveys has been developed to measure the person-centeredness (or not) of HCBS.
